Decor Glass Specialists, Inc. manufactures laminated glass. Laminated safety glass holds together when shattered and meets the code requirements for tempered glass. Two or sometimes 3 (bullet resistant) pieces of glass are held in place by an interlayer made of polyvinyl Butyral (PVB), EVA or the hurricane approved material Surlyn.
This product is typically used in Skylight glazing and automobile windshields, hurricane-resistant construction, exterior storefronts, curtain walls and windows. Anti-Theft applications (jewelry cases) are best made with a mix of Tempered glass on the outside and annealed for the inner panel. Office partitions and some furniture applications lend themselves well to this style of glass. Some of the features that this product has are increased security and safety, a higher sound insulation rating and it can block up to 99% of transmitted UV light. Colored Graphics can be printed on our interlayer materials as well as their being made to appear partially or totally etched and translucent.
